Okay...so is this how you are suppose to celebrate 38 years of marriage...in Insta-care??? Craig came home from work with a swollen, red elbow today and no explanation of what could have possibly happened. So we decide we better check things out before going dinner as we had planned for our anniversary. Turns out that Craig has Olecranon Bursitis that is infected...What is that???Well here is your health lesson for today...
This may occur without any warning, or it may be caused by a small injury and infection of the skin over the bursa that spreads down into the bursa. Instead of blood or inflammatory fluid in the bursa, it becomes filled with pus. The area around the bursa becomes hot, red, and very tender...Yup...that is what Craig had.
So instead of going out for a nice dinner to celebrate our Anniversary...we sat in Insta-care while Craig had intervenious injections of medication of some type. Apparently Craig has had this going on for a few days and has just been brave and not complained...otherwise it would not be so advanced and he could have just taken oral medication rather than from an IV. He now has an IV needle in his hand so he can go back for the next couple of days for more intervenious injections of his meds...Excitement as always at our house...
